Lavascoop – alder & milk paint

    Length: 9cm (3 1/2 inches)
    Bowl width: 4.5cm
    Bowl length: 4.5cm
    Capacity: 1 tablespoon (approx)
Finish: milk paint and hemp seed oil

A alder scoop that’s like a mini kuksa. It sits slightly laid back on its base and the bottom of the handle. It’s equally at home living in your coffe caddy or displayed on a kitchen shelf.

The measure if pretty close to a table spoon. It’s a wee thing but just big enough for a medicinal nip of whisky if you should choose.

I don’t recommend using for hot drinks – it might be fine but I’ve not done extensive testing and too many expresso may become a problem.

Please note the blue and white version is called seascoop and you’ll find that elsewhere on this website.

    apple wood eating spoon

    Apple wood eating spoon #35

    Length: 18cm  (7 inches)
    Bowl width: 4.5cm
    Bowl length: 6.6cm
    Finish: hemp seed oil

A elegant eating spoon with prominent facets in honey brown apple heartwood. There’s a slight knot mark in the centre of the bowl that wont effect it in use but I’d recommend cleaning it carefully and not leaving it in the dishwater too long. This apple wood had dried out super hard so this should be a good long lasting spoon allowing the facets and other carved detail to develop a lovely patina with age.

    Length: 14.5cm  (5 3/4 inches)
    Bowl width: 4.5cm
    Bowl length: 6cm
    Finish: hemp seed oil

A pocket sized blackthorn beauty – a real one off. There’s a knot feature in the bowl but it solid and doesn’t effect the spoon. There’s a slight kink in the neck caused by minor knots as it dried but I think this adds to its charm.

    Blackthorn eating spoon #32

    Length: 15.5cm  (6 inches)
    Bowl width: 4.5cm
    Bowl length: 6cm
    Finish: hemp seed oil

A dark brown and black blackthorn beauty. A slightly hollowed handle top and upturned tail makes this spoon sit so sweetly in your hand. It developed a tiny kink in the neck during drying but that only adds to it’s uniqueness. The knot in the bowl is solid and shouldn’t give any problems but it’ll be happiest if you don’t leave it soaking in the sink for hours.

    Blackthorn eating spoon #34

    Length: 17cm  (6 3/4 inches)
    Bowl width: 5cm
    Bowl length: 6.2cm
    Finish: hemp seed oil

A dark brown blackthorn beauty with a knot hole in the bowl. A robust eating spoon with striking dark colour, a largish right handed bowl and saddle back handle top. There’s a knot in the bowl that’s fallen out, so there’s a small hole in the bowl but that wont effect how it works, you’ll just hove to take a little more care cleaning it. So I’m letting go out into the world a bit cheaper than it would otherwise be – but it’s too damn good to not get released out into the wild.
