Fri 3rd Nov 2017 – introduction to spoon decoration techniques – Bisley Road, Stroud

This course is designed for adults only, you must be 18 or older to attend – unless you’ve made a specific arrangement with me.

To be held in in my garden workshop in Bisley Road, Stroud, Gloucestershire (GL5 1HE).

Suitable for beginners but targetted at those of you who can already make a spoon but want to add some decoration. We’ll cover three techniques;

  • Chip carving, where a pattern is cut into the wood. This will include a brief section on lettering.
  • Kolrossing, where the wood is scratched in geometric or freehand patterns and then pigment rubbed into the scratches.
  • Painting, what paints to use and in particular an introduction to milk paint that I use for those striking red and black handles.

All tools and wood is provided but you’re weclome to bring your own tools if you have them.

From: 10am to 4.30pm. Tea, coffee and cake provided. Bring a packed lunch. Full joining instructions will be emailed nearer the course date.
