At present I’m running one day courses for beginners and improvers, for those with no carving experience or if you’ve carved a little and what to improve. We’ll cover safe use of knife and axe for carving and you’ll have plenty of time to work on a cooking spoon or serving spoon to take home with you. In the autumn I’ll look at running some more advanced courses focused on making eating spoons and methods of decorating handles.
Sorry the Marchand April courses are now full. More dates in May and June will be added soon – please sign up to my newsletter and you’ll get an email as soon as I’ve set the dates.

About the courses
These one day courses will be held in the yurt (witha woodburner in case it’s cold) at Day Cottage in Brookthorpe on the A416 between Stroud and Gloucester. I’ll be running the same course on Friday and Sunday as I know some people prefer week days and others weekends.
Cost of the course is £60 for the day. Tea, coffee and hot and cold water for drinks will be provided, as will biscuits and cake. Please being a packed lunch and your own flavourings (herbal teas etc) if you prefer.
Starts at 10am – please arrive from 9.30 to settle in and have a cuppa before we start.
Finishes at 4.30pm.
All tools and timber provided.
